Additional Opportunities Available at Reigate and Redhill YMCA

Hillbrook House also provides:
  • Next Step service, a project that helps young people age 16-30 and families on a low income pay the deposit on accommodation in the private rented sector. For young people the project also provides support in maintaining tenancies.
  • Heads Together; a counselling service for young people aged 14-25 (up to 30 if resident at Hillbrook). It employs volunteer counsellors to provide free counselling
  • A Connexions PA service; we employ 3 PAs (Personal Advisors) who work with young people 14-25 who are or who are at risk of being excluded from education, employment and training.
  • We also have a fantastic IT Centre that specialises in digital art and media projects for young people and also hosts the Princes Trust Scheme.

Homelessness Services Available at Reigate and Redhill YMCA

The Next Step Service above offers young people Housing Options interviews to help prevent homelessness or further housing crisis or explore routes out of it.

We work with the local authority to provide a series of visits to schools on what it means to be a young person and homeless, using a DVD presentation with interviews and input from users of our services.

We hope to provide an emergency bed for young people 16-17 in housing crisis in the near future.
