Southend YMCA, as the Local Housing Partner of YMCA England’s housing scheme, welcomes applications for supported housing from people from all backgrounds.
Local Profile
Southend YMCA offers supported accommodation for single homeless, vulnerable or young people at risk aged 16 - 25.
Access to Southend YMCA accommodation is through the Southend Access Gateway referral panel.
The Southend YMCA supported accomodation service provides a wide ranging services including assisting with benefits, completing forms and applications, budgeting through to developing social skills and coping with trauma. Each resident's individual plan is created with a member of staff, who is appointed as their key worker.

Homelessness Services Available at Southend YMCA
Southend YMCA offers personalised support, tailor made to the needs of each young person – thereby enabling their transition to independence. Interventions are flexibly comprised from the following:
- Help in setting up and maintaining tenancy
- Developing life skills
- Social skills/behaviour management
- Action planning
- Help in management finances and benefit claims
- Emotional support, counselling and advice
- Help in gaining access to specialist services
- Help in establishing social contacts and activities
- Help in establishing personal safety and security
- Supervision and monitoring of health and well being
