Tees Valley YMCA, as the Local Housing Partner of YMCA England’s Housing scheme, welcomes applications for supported housing from people from all backgrounds.
Tees Valley YMCA Housing project is based in Middleton Court, Darlington. We are an accredited Foyer and a member of the Foyer Federation which has a network of 140 Foyers providing accommodation, training and support for young people in the UK.
Tees Valley YMCA is a youth organisation, which supports children and young people. Our core work includes the provision of supported housing, training, youth volunteering and support services for young carers. We are an independent charity, managed by a Board of directors who are drawn from the local community. We are affiliated to the National Council of YMCAs which is a national and international Christian youth movement.

Additional Opportunities Available at Tees Valley YMCA
Tees Valley YMCA Housing Project provides the housing related support service under the contract of Supporting People Commissioning body of Darlington Borough Council. If the young person's referral is accepted, the young person can expect their own self-contained flat on an assured short hold tenancy for 12 months, this is the highest from of tenancy the housing project can offer and meets the young person's primary need for shelter and security.
A team of support workers are employed to provide the service, and are supported by a Housing Manager.
Foyers provide accomodation with the opportunity for young people, and a community in which they can thrive. By integrating training, job search, personal support and motivation with a place to live, Foyer's provide a bridge to independence and a chance for young people to realise their full potential.

Homelessness Services Available at Tees Valley YMCA
All referrals will be made through Key Point of Access. The Key Point of Access (KPA) will conduct an interview, a needs assessment and risk assessment, to establish the most appropriate service for the individual. The Key Point of Access will forward a copy of the needs and risk assessment to Darlington YMCA Foyer when a young person is referred for interview. Applicants will also be shown around the building. The KPA will be informed of the outcome of the interview as soon as possible.
